Well, you guys always have good ideas and I'm coming up blank so I thought I'd see if you had some suggestions. A good friend started chemo yesterday and will be having 4 sessions of it over the next few months. I've committed to sending a card a week to both him and his wife. I thought it would be fun to put a little token 'fun' in the cards now and again. I was thinking of a little funny comic, a little game (I know some of you do Sodhuko...can I get an easier printable one somewhere?), etc. Just little pick me ups that I can slip in the cards without spending a fortune in postage.

Thoughts or ideas??

Peg

If he likes TV, what about a review with the date/time a movie or show you think he might like comes on?

There are some origami patterns out there you can print onto regular paper.

You might be able to find a page-a-day calendar on sale in a topic he likes -- those would make fun inserts.

I used to send my sister funny collages I made from stuff I cut out of magazines when I was away at college (she was little and liked getting mail).

A tea bag of nice tea or herbal tea.

That is a really sweet idea Peg.

What about photocopying pages out of hiking guide books if he's an avid hiker?

I put a puzzle in his card today. I will try to stop at the dollar store sometime and see what they might have. I love the flower idea for her. I thought I might get the pics from my hike a couple of weeks ago developed and maybe slip one of those in his card. He's a big hiker...motivate him with what we can do next time they come to see me.

Keep the ideas coming...I got weeks and weeks to go here...

It's kind of silly, but...what about a pressed flower or two? Like what you'd give to friends when you were little.

try the dollar store.... this is a very nice idea by the way. when I was sick years back..my husband's aunt sent me a card DAILY. It was awesome. I remember it more than the meals or anything else really. sometimes they were uplifting...sometimes funny....sometimes plain but I always looked forward to my card from Aunt Millie.
