I am going over to my brother's house tonight to try out one of KD's recipes. It is the only way I can try it out with people that will appreciate something spicy. I just hope that my DH will like it. The beef with thai dressing, watermelon, mango, and cucumber seemed like something that my DH wouldn't just roll his eyes at. My mom is going to watch the kids happily to avoid anything spicy. I have in the past tried to find stuff to make everybody happy or didn't do anything new because my DH and I would be the only ones to eat it. Michelle
Everything went great. All five of us liked the dish. We did the beef and fish. My brother, dad and sister-in-law liked it best with the albacore tuna, but also enjoyed the beef as well. The fruit salad part was really good. Not overly spicy, but a nice flavor. We decided we would definitely make it again. It was a great recipe for our needs because my sil only eats fish. So that is how dinner went.
Sounds good-please post the outcome, that is not a recipe I've tried yet.
One suggestion-you can almost always adapt a recipe to increase or decrease certain flavors. For some recipes of course you don't want to do this but I find with certain spicy recipes I can eliminate or greatly reduce the amount of the spicy ingredient(s) to make them more family friendly.
My dd always hated anything with even the smallest bit of spice or heat in foods. Now that she is getting older her tastes are changing and she is beginning to enjoy a little spiciness so perhaps when your kids grow older they will begin to enjoy it too.
Hope your recipe is delicious!

I have no specific goal(s) right now. I am trying to find the spiritual side of myself that I lost somewhere along the way.
