This weekend was totally crazy for me. With the nice weather (a rarity in spring in Northeastern Ohio) I took advantage of it. I also have overscheduled myself like crazy recently. I'm sure others have too. So, today's homework is something beneficial for all of us, stressed or not.
Take enough time to do something special for yourself. It doesn't have to be time consuming or fancy, just something that allows you to spend even 5 minutes on yourself, with no distractions.
Today I've already done two things: I'm taking a day off work to just slow way down. I also took the time to curl my hair. I wanted to feel good about myself, and I don't always take the time to really work on me and my appearance.
Share what you're doing (especially the really quick ideas). I'm sure that we can all use some new ideas.
Have fun with it.
Laura
Life is like a roller coaster, with lots of ups and downs, but the curves, spirals, loops and corkscrews are what make life interesting.
AFter a day filled with frustration and anger, I am taking my jeans off, putting on something really scrubby, pulling up the tv guide and just vegging...this is about the nicest I can get for me today.
It's never too late to get it right.

Don't give up. Natural nails have too much oil to hold paint for more than a few days without beginning to peel and your lucky if you get 1 day if you have children and do any housework like dishes. Next time make it a 2 day plan. Day one- trim, scrub, dry and paint a base coat. Day two- paint color and top coat. Allow to dry _thoroughly_. You can get up to a week if you allow every layer to dry individually. I know, I know, who has that kind of time. Thats why you break it up. Paint them on a night you have a tv program to watch. They can be surface dry before your program goes off.
I think I'll do my toes right now while I have an hour to myself.

i just gave myself a manicure. I almost never paint my nails, in fact it took almost 20 minutes to track down my nail polishes, and then most were all goopy. But I found a nice light nutral one! Thanks for the nudge, I always forget about treating myself.

Sometime this coming weekend, I will be getting a professional manicure and pedicure so that I will be well groomed for all those open-toed shoes and bare feet while on the cruise.

Thanks, Laura For various reasons, this day was starting off pretty crappy, but I took a couple of minutes and pulled down some expensive bath stuff I'd gotten as a gift a while back and took a long, hot shower. I was saving the expensive stuff for a "special" occasion, but decided that today, with your prompting, would be a special occasion
