I have the sweeps here, its going to be the best $400 I ever spent. They hadn't had the chimneys cleaned in, ever.

Piles of soot, dust, debris. The door to the furnace flue had rusted shut and they took out a small trashbag's worth of debris, before cleaning.

We had our's cleaned last year, and I agree....best $300 (the chimney sweep was $150 and the part they put on to help with debris, animals, water etc was $150) I've ever spent for the safety of our family! The sweep that came here told me that our chimney had probably never been cleaned either, and our house was built in the early 70s.
