We got the house! I didn't let myseft get excited before. There were 32 bids on the house. It is kind of like buying a house on ebay. You decide the absolute highest you are willing to pay and hope that it is neither too little or too much. We are excited now!

We have an open house here on Sunday. ds and I went and bought new bedding and kitchen towels yesterday and house is almost "staged". Perhaps the bright new tea kettle and kitchen towels will look so cheerful that people won't notice that the kitchen has 3 cabinettes and one counter and both are 35 years old. ds commented that we no longer watch food network. We bounce back and forth between HGTV and TLC. Of course on "Designed to Sell" they have $2000 and 5 professional carpenters...

The best news is that there are only 2 other starter houses on the market that are 3 bedrooms/1 bath. We should get multiple offers on Monday.

Have been making lots better food choices (although we did have a celebretory M&M McFlurry last night). Have lost one lb. and holding steady. Good thing that it is hot and salads are very appealing now!

Hi! I almost missed this post...

My husband wiped our hard drive clean on Friday night. It has been awful. I couldn't get on line at all some days. The computer would lock up. DH got sick of reading emails to me over the phone and then having to type the replies. Anyway, it is finally fixed!

Things here are good. We are putting a bid on a house tomorrow. It is only about 3 blocks away from where we are now as we want to stay in the same school attend. area. Our current lot is 9000 sq. ft and the house is 925. The house we want is 1650 sq ft. and the lot is 5000. It will be a better fit.

Our house is going on the market this week. It is a great time to sell. Sellers are getting multiple bids on a house well over the asking price. This makes it not such a good time to buy... We are anticipating having to bid $65,000 over the asking price. It is crazy. Houses go on the market for 6 days and they look at the bids on the 7th.

We are staying calm and I'm not falling hard in love for this new house as we may not win the bidding war. Smiler I do like this house though. The houses in our area are all 45 years old and there are some with some pretty funky family room additions or remodels. This one that we are bidding on is just the original house.

I feel like I'm living on the show "Designed to Sell". I spent 9 hours picking the last of the wall paper off of one kitchen wall yesterday.

I actually started pulling the wall paper off last fall. I took the wall paper off of one wall and the entire wall crumbled. The wall paper was all that was holding the wall together. The wall had to be rebuilt - studs and all. It would take too long to type all of the details, but last August thru November we had the roof and 2, 3, or 4 walls in every room in the house opened up for either electrical work, dry rot, or termites (with the exception of the living room - which is where all three of of slept for a month...) . It was a nightmare.

We did so many repairs that I kind of lost steam in the winter and spring and left this one wall. Fortunately, this wall is sound and only needs paint now. On the home stretch now - a trip to the dump, little painting and having the carpet cleaned and we are done.

The not so good/bad news is - I have gained 3 lbs. I'm going to concentrate on staying where I am and not gaining anymore for a couple of months.

I've got to say that crawling over the stove and getting behind the fridge was way easier this time than it was last September when I weighed more.

I'll have to read and catch up later - need to get back to work!

Denise
