Today is Friday and we are all going away for a long weekend. You choose wherever you want to go but there is one rule: This is for you, your kids and/or signifacant other can go if you want but if they do they will be happily and quietly packing there own stuff so you can pack yours.
1. Where would you like to go?
2. What music is a must for either the car or your iPod/headset on the plane, train, whatever your means of travel? Think of some really great songs, songs for you, no KidZBop or Barney music in the car(the kids will have their own headset) unless that is what you really what you want to listen to.
3. Pick 3 things(other than the basics like toothpaste, underwear, sunscreen) that you absolutely must have with you.
Bon Voyage, Happy Trails, Have a great vacation! Jill
I have no specific goal(s) right now. I am trying to find the spiritual side of myself that I lost somewhere along the way.
2. What music is a must for either the car or your iPod/headset on the plane, train, whatever your means of travel?John Denver, Carly Simon, Simon and Garfunkel, Baroque Dance Music, Manheim Steamroller
3. Pick 3 things(other than the basics like toothpaste, underwear, sunscreen) that you absolutely must have with you. Dogs, Sleeping bags, Camera
It's never too late to get it right.

1. I'd go to a great spa- get loads of treatments and luxuriate. I love this. (It does not raise my metabolism )
2. I am not so into music. I listen to NPR talk radio. (Dd has been taking piano lessons for 18 months and is already beyond the point where I feel comfortable helping her with music. In general music is a strain on me most of the time. A few times I enjoy it for short periods. I do use my MP3 for exercise jump starts, but never otherwise.)
3. Sunglasses, cell phone and some of my best books
We'd rent a yurt (something between a tent and a cabin) in the Adirondacks. The yurts are a mile hike from the road, and you have to bring your own food and bedding, but it has heat, a propane stove, and beds. I've been oogling these for a year now, and we're going to do it late spring.
I'd love to go away for an active spa weekend, especially if I could do it in a time machine so that I wouldn't lose any time to work on my papers. I really could use the jumpstart since I've had trouble staying on track. Someplace with a lot of sun would be nice, maybe Canyon Ranch.
I wouldn't take music, just some great fiction to read on the plane. Something totally for pleasure.
I would take along a journal and pen to write down all the great stuff I was learning, some great new workout clothes, and my yoga mat.

It IS incredibly beautiful. They put HUGE bucks into making it a visual wonderland. Unfortunately, it can also be incredibly expensive, but it doesn't have to be. The Beach Tower (older than the rest) is the best deal and there are smaller restaurants where you can eat more economically than Atlantis' high-end restaurants (which, to me, were not even close to being worth the money).
Here are some pix from my first visit (we stayed in the Beach Tower that trip). I have others but these are the only ones I have on the web at the moment:
Sheri, Thank you so much for posting the pics! I will show them to Morgan, she will really be bugging me after seeing them. I think when I originally looked into the trip I was checking out the Beach Tower. Jill

For Homework: 1. Hawaii! Although I don't think a long weekend will be enough time
2. iPod-everything from Sinatra to Destiny's Child to Hank Williams, you name it, it's probably on there! I need a variety so I don't get bored.
3. A book to read on the beach, a really cool bathing suit(this of course is my virtual vacation so I will look great in said bathing suit!!), and Oprah's bank account. Jill

1. Where would you like to go? I'm driving to Tahoe on Monday for 4-5 days.
2. What music is a must... I don't have a CD or tape player in the car.
If I did... I'd listen to band geek music. I'd take the 7 CD set Pepper Editors Choice set.
3. Pick 3 things(other than the basics like toothpaste, underwear, sunscreen) that you absolutely must have with you. My skis and boots, I suppose... although one year I had a ALL of my and Jamie's socks, gloves and hats packed in a beige duffel bag which was sitting on our beige carpet. I got a call from Nelson saying, "This bag sitting in the hall... do you need it?????"
Jamie and I hit the Salvation Army and bought about $20 worth of hats and stuff and we were fine.
If this really was dream vacation... I'd take Jamie with me. I'm so sad that I can't take him out of school for 4 days anymore. He'd never catch up on the homework and our district doesn't have a "ski week" vacation. That week snow skiing is one of my most favorite memories of his elementary school years.

1. I'm torn between a jaunt to Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island (Bahamas) or a visit to a spa resort in Arizona or California (I can only think of the names Canyon Ranch and Mirabelle and I'm not sure those are spas in AZ or CA).
2. An eclectic mix so I don't get bored: Melissa Etheridge's latest for a little rock n' roll grrlpower. Anything Lisa Loeb for her strange mix of pathos and cheeriness. The Best of Otis Redding for relaxing smooooth soul. The Dance With Me soundtrack for hot Latin rhythms. Dance Party 1997, the best compilation of dance music I own.
3. My digital camera, a good book and KD's daybook!

1. I would love to go on a spa/yoga retreat, there is one that has it all included, but I can't think of the name of it. That way I could be treated and eating like the queen.
2. Music I think would have to be a mix of everything I have. But I would especially bring some Allison Kraus, Harry Connick, Frank Santara.
3. My camera is always a must, good pair of sunglasses, and a good book.

Daily to do: Drink plenty of water & take vitamins

2. Music, well I would need something upbeat, so maybe a couple of soundtracks from musicals, those always work for me. Of course some of the Irish folk music would be a must as well Noel Henry is one of my favorites.
3. A camera is probably the most important thing to pack, a diary or journal (this trip sounds absolutely inspiring) and my shamrock worry stone (it goes everywhere with me)
