In one of my favorite books, "Write it Down, Make it Happen: Knowing What you Want and Getting It," Heneriette Anne Klauser tells the story of a girlfriend of her's that learned how to ride a unicycle. When the girlfriend wanted to learn French she thought it was beyond her abilities. The girl's Mother told her "A girl who can ride a Unicycle can learn French." and a matra for the woman was born. Whenever she had doubts about her own abilities, she would would repeat what her mother said, and put the appropriate ending on it.
For the last three years, my mantra has been:
A girl who could throw away 2500 lbs of stuff can _________________________.
So here's the assignment:
1. Think of something that you have mastered/accomplished and something that you wish to accomplish.
2. Fill in the blanks and give your statement
A ___________ who could ________________ can _____________________________________________
A woman who can earn an Associates Degree at age 58 can find some way to visit Scotland.
My maiden name was CAMPBELL. The ancestral home of the CAMPBELL family is at Inverary Scotland. It is a castle and the Duke of Argyll (the head of the Clan Campbell) and his family still lives there. All except the private residence portions are open to the public. I have met his parents, the previous Duke and Duchess of Argyll a couple of times in the past at Scottish Highland Games at Grandfather Mountain & at Stone Mountain. His father died a few years ago but his mother is still living and I have heard that she occasionally dons a tour guide's uniform and does not tell the tour group she is leading who she is until the end of the tour.

this is a super assignment, at least it resonates with me anyway. when i felt tempted to snack today, i self- talked "ok, if you could leave an abusive relationship and become a single parent of a 22 month old baby, then you can overcome the power of a snack temptation." This really does put things into perspective. wow!
Beginning at age 23, I spent 7 years as an AIDS social worker, and saw friends and clients ravaged by disease (and also witnessed tremendous emotional healing and unconditional love).
As for what I wish to accomplish, I want to become a better parent, and to get better at returning to my spiritual center. I want to spend more time in nature, witnessing the innate intelligence of all beings and less time obsessing about what I will eat today. I want to live and love more fully: to be more alive every day. Iz
Goals: 1. Stop thinking like a chronic dieter and start living to inspire. 2. HALT (hungry, anxious, lonely, tired) I will stop and tune in with myself should I experience these things, and respond with something healthy. 3. One word 2008: courage 4. Eat slow and mindfully.
This a great assignment. It has me thinking of when i was a teenager at summer camp. This particular summer I took on the chalenge of going on a big hiking/canoeing trip. After I climbed to the top of our last place I told someone, "Since I did survived and climbed this mountain I am able to do anything."
I am reminded of that because since then I have accomplished some milestones in m life. From leaving a bad relationship, walking 2 3day walks, moving to a new city and taking a job I had not a lot of professional experience in, completeting a Master's degree. Those are 4 accomplishments I put on my top 5 list.
But a woman who can accomplish a Masters degree with a learning disability can spread inspiration and guidance to others who may want it.

Well, I had a bit of a hard time choosing my 'who could do' part...guess that's probably a good thing. So I tried to narrow it down to recent accomplishments so I got:
A woman who could walk 26 miles in 2 days and raise $1800+ can find a great new challenging, exciting job in a great new location so she can live where she wants to be.

A woman who could take a job in a field and profession she had NO experience in and wow everyone around her with her retention, analytical skills, and curiousity can also learn how to treat herself well.
Because the biggest issue I have right now is treating myself as well as I treat everyone else around me and offering myself the same consideration I give to others.
Challenge Goals: *10 minutes of unplanned exercise five times a week *Gym time twice a week *Socialize at least once every two weeks.
The second part is easy for me - A woman who could survive the death of her son can do absolutely anything.
That was by far the hardest thing I've ever had to endure and everything pales in comparison. The whole experience showed me how emotionally strong I really am
The first part of the homework, in terms of what I would like to accomplish, I have to think about. Right now, I'm pretty satisfied with where I am in my life and can't think of anything that I want to accomplish that I'm not already working towards.
Out of our beliefs are born deeds; out of our deeds we form habits; out of our habits grows our character; and on our character we build our destiny.
A Girl Who Could Finally leave an abusive relationship can do ANYTHING!!! This was the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life. Since then, my life has greatly improved and I know now that I have the strength inside myself to do whatever I set out to do. I was chatting w/Steph last evening and we were talking about goal setting and having a plan for the future. I was telling her how going back to college now is scary for me but she was very positive and guided me back into "yes you can" thinking-by the way-thanks Steph!!! So, this homework is very timely for me. I want to go back to school, and I am going to make some calls today and schedule some appointments to go visit some schools.

Summer Challenge Goals: 1) Walk 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week 2) Plan weekly menus
