Tomorrow, downtown is having a harvest festival and I'm scheduled to read to kids on behalf of the library and entering my pumpkin chili or crockpot pumpkin-peach dessert in a cooking contest.

so I can curl up with my great book (The Help) and let Patches wait on me paw and hoof (or was it woof)?

Thanks for the prayers and the well wishes. I'll keep you updated.

I AM going to get back on that bike. By the time I can, it ought to be the perfect weather for me to bike!

No worries, Linda, we're all just glad you're on the mend. Big Grin

You know Brie, and others,

I looked back today at what I typed on Friday and I guess I must have still been under the anesthetic! I didn't find what I thought I wrote, and it was obvious I thought I had said something about the surgery. Wrong!

Sorry to be so confusing.

I somehow missed that you already had your surgery Linda! I'm glad that you are feeling OK and are getting around.

I'm very curious to hear your take on the ending, Linda. I find that people are quite split on it.

Thank you Sheri and Sheltie,

So far so good. I have not taken either the pain medicine or the nausea medicine. I have done my exercises and been busy, but I will mostly rest today. One more day on the crutches and until I can shower. Washed my hair in the kitchen sink last night - knew that would do the most for my sense of self.

The Help is fantastic, Sheri. I agree the best book I've read this year. Hopefully, I'll finish it this afternoon.

Linda: Best wishes for a great recovery and I hope you like The Help as much as I did. It is probably STILL my favorite book of the year!

I have been sick since Friday morning and my 4-legged friend has been a great nursemaid. She stayed by my side in bed for the whole day on Friday, not even leaving my side to eat or drink.

Best wishes for a full and as-speedy-as-possible recovery.

Goal: Stop stress snacking.
