Good morning. I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

Yesterday I picked up some salmon at the grocery. I am sick of my regular recipe, just because it really has been a staple recipe and one I have used over and over.

So I was thinking of things I had in my fridge and pantry that I could use.

Has anyone ever put grainy mustard on salmon? I found this great brown mustard with horseradish and thought this could work on the salmon. Comments on this...also do I need to put the mustard on to marinade or just put it on when i prepare to make dinner.

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

As per Mary Jo's suggestion I looked up Giada's recipe, since she was the inspriation of my original one that I used.

It was a nice change for me. I put mine with a spinach, walnut and sauteed port. mushroom salad. A very nice dinner.

Although I have to admit I did have ice cream and about 15 choc. covered pretzels. Tomorrow is a new day and I tend to be back in check with myself.

I'm probably too late to help if you were making the salmon for dinner tonight but my standard "sauce" for salmon is 1 part mustard, 1 part horseradish and 1 part strained, non fat yogurt. Mix the ingredients together and then put in fridge for an hour or two. I spoon the sauce on the salmon after it's cooked.

I've put soy and wasabi on salmon as a marinade sort of thing... so horseradish might work... Smiler

I have never tried brown mustard or horseradish on salmon. I think the horseradish would taste good as long as long as it wasn't too strong and overpower the fish. Have you tried teriaki (sp)with salmon?

My kids 10 & 15,love maple syrup on their grilled salmon after it has been cooked. Sounds weird but it is pretty good.
