Life goes by so quickly for all of us. Today will be yesterday in just a few brief moments.

But today, for one minute, take a break from life and think about the things that REALLY make you happy. What is it that makes your soul smile with delight?

AND if you want, share it with us.

*****

My soul giggles at the thought of my husband and sons and our furbabies. At the sounds of children laughing and being kids. These sounds make everything worth keeping at for me.

Summer Challenge Goals:

1. Get out of the house and in the pool four days a week.
2. Schedule meals a week at a time.
3. five fruits and vegetables a day, along with water.

summer 7 challenge goals:
- Meditate every day

Out of our beliefs are born deeds; out of our deeds we form habits; out of our habits grows our character; and on our character we build our destiny.

Dogs being dogs...I can get a big soul smile out of seeing a dog happily jaunting with his person, riding in a car and sticking his head out the window, or catching a ball on the beach. Dogs are made happy SO easily--they take joy in simple things. I think that's something to admire and emulate.

A beautiful fall or spring day...warm sun but a clean, cool breeze so that you don't ever feel broiled being out int he sun...can definitely bring joy to my heart. A lengthy powerwalk/jog on a day like that is a simple pleasure.

The beauty of nature...I have visited some of the most beautiful places on Earth but a place doesn't have to be exotic to be beautiful to me. I am just as likely to be awed by a tree changing into its fall colors on my way to work as I am by a beach in Maui. I think because my Dad took me hunting and fishing with him when I was a child, I learned an early appreciation for being quiet with nature.

Being able to help someone...I'm not a doctor, a nurse or teacher, nor do I have any special skills like that which would allow me to help people on a daily basis, but I AM a human being, and I like to be able to step up and help when the opportunity presents itself.

Seeing a genuine smile (or hearing a genuine laugh) from someone I love and knowing that I am the source. Getting just the right card or gift, being there at the right time, telling a funny story, comforting a friend. I struggle regularly with staying connected to those I love, but knowing that I have connected and brought laughter or happiness to someone I love definitely makes my soul smile.

My soul smiles with delight when I see a gorgeous sunrise or sunset and all is well at the moment. Having my hubby content and our puppy dog snuggling by me makes me burst with contentment. Seeing the kids at school smile wide, trying their hardest and help each other makes teaching worth it for me and fills that part of my soul. I try really hard to give my worries to God and to be happy with my life and all its bumps along the way.

Right now it is 9:10 am and dh and I are just getting around to our morning. It is raining, dh is puttin' around downstairs, puppy is around my neck while I am checking the computer stuffSmiler I love the little things just as much, or more, as the big moments of life!

Goal:
Exercise at least 3 times per week.

Get the munchies under control!
