Oy! The weekend! Actually, I did pretty good except for Saturday night. We went out to dinner with some friends of ours. Hubby and I both ordered fettucine alfredo (aka 'heart attack on a plate') with broccoli and chicken breast. I have truly only had my homemade version that I make somewhat low fat. Well, I don't know if my stomach was off that night or if it was just too rich to eat, but I didn't even eat half of it. I think I may have had about a quarter of it. It was very tasty, but so rich I just couldn't eat that much. My hubby's having the rest of it for lunch today because he's having a long day today. Anyway, that was my sin for the weekend. We don't drink so that's never an issue at least. Sunday's are always bad for my eating, not that I eat bad choices on Sundays - it's just the logistics of fitting in food when you're at church most of the day is tough. No six small meals on Sunday. We usually have a healthy breakfast, then a plain whole grain bagel on the way home from church. We eat a big dinner at around 3:30 and then a snack (usually fruit or popcorn) after the night service, usually around 8:00. Not the best schedule for an even blood sugar but that's how it goes. We had low fat ham yesterday for dinner and it was very salty and I spent most of the evening service wishing I had a large glass of water. Today I have a ham hangover (too much salt seems to give me a headache the next day if I don't stay hydrated). Today is a new day. Today's plan: b- kashi w/ soy milk & banana, coffee s- apple l- spinach salad w/ low fat dressing s- yogurt d- pecan crusted chicken fingers (baked) w/ roasted sweet potato straws (I julienne sweet potatoes, spray w/ olive oil, dust with curry powder and bake until crispy), and steamed broccoli s- blueberries, soy milk
Exercise today will be the 3 mile Walk away the pounds and 8 minute abs.
I had a good day yesterday- it is amazing how much better I feel today after a clean day of eating and some exercise. Today I am at home all day working on some job applications. I had my cereal for breakfast and will have leftover veggie chili for lunch. Dinner will be sweet pepper and mushroom pizza. For snacks I have a tea and some golden raisons planned. I have walked 2 miles this AM and will go for 2 more later. I just have to get started on these applications-
Sunday, I veered off track for an hour and then got back on track and stayed on track all evening - although it was minute by minute and touch and go not to grab some cheese and crackers some times.
Really looking forward to a week with very few evening and weekend committments. Going to all of these activities with (not healthy) food was rough last week
TODAY: cereal, milk
I'll have to finish later... Dog needs walking NOW!
No milk in house - change to mock muffin veggie dog and sourkraut apple orange, 1 cup plain yogurt, vanilla in blender Ahi tuna, sushi rice, carrots and brocolli
