I'm up, and discouraged. Frowner

The minute I make a conscious decision to stay away from something, the exact opposite happens. Sweets three days in a row and wham! 3-4 lbs.

Renewing my efforts... but why the **** am I so **** hungry all the time?!

saturday was pretty good until the little molten chocolate cake after dinner with whipped crea. boy, it was tastey though. i ran alot on saturday, and also did my share of weights and plymetrics. it was an intense exercise day.

sunday--i did one hour on the elliptical machine. had a pretty darn clean day. a serving of ice cream after dinner but no big deal.

monday--i only did 40 min at the gym because i only had 6 hours of sleep. mostly weights. clean eating so far.

Goals:
1. Enjoy life!
2. Be aware, be awake, pay attention.
3. One word 2010: faith

Not a good weekend for me. I gained 4 lbs in one night thanks to some super salty foods and beer. Not good : ( Still with me this morning too which sucks. Planning on a super clean day today. No straying from the plan!

Sunday was a disaster in the sugar and sweets dept. I exercised, cooked from scratch and avoided alcohol as planned, so the day wasn't a train wreck.

Today's a new day and I'm prepared.

Today, Saturday, was a splurge day. I did NOT stay away from sweets or wine (we had friends over for dinner), but I didn't consume more than usual. I feel full but not stuffed. One of our guests, however, had to lie down for a nap after dinner because she overate and was overwhelmed by carb coma... Smiler (my cooking's that good, huh?)

For me I am going to have to take my whole healthy lifestyle approach week by week. I am already getting the sense that will make the most sense as for when I can and can't workout (aiming for 3 times a week), some menu planning and trips to the grocery, and just having some me time.

If I can focus my life like this I know I will be more successful.

My goals are to adhere to a do-able cleaning schedule. (Long term goal... start a January not thinking, "THIS is the year I'll FINALLY get organized". Smiler)

Weight wise I'm actually really happy. I only gained 1/2 lb over six weeks of of holidays and being out of town.

And even MORE importantly, I think that I'm two lbs less than I was at this time last year.

AND even BETTER, I'm down 4.5 lbs from my all time high freak out last June. Smiler

Last year, I got 2 or 3 boxes or some large amount of See's candy (My very, VERY favorite!) I gave some of it away... and STILL had a lot... and a pound of See's went with us to Tahoe between Xmas and New Years.

THIS year... I wasn't so "lucky". Smiler I got a huge box of Ferrero Rocher early before Xmas... but I don't like it very much. It didn't stop me from eating some of it... but at least I didn't eat "way too much". More like "just a little too much". But it is "amazing" how much easier it is when I don't have a pound or two of See's on vacation with me.

But anyway... Goal for this month:
Lower "red line weight" half a pound.

I think that might be my goal for the year. lose 3 lbs over the next 6 months or so.

jill, that is awesome!

my january goal is to find that happy medium. how much exercise am i willing to do? how much energy am i willing to put into this? if i do less exercise, then am i willing to cut down on portions? if i don't lose the "october weight gain", would I be ok with that?
those are all questions i need to sort thru in january. i am not sure i have the right answers yet.

so far, i have been doing 1 hour of exercise a day (roughly), and i am focused more on the foods i really enjoy--the "worth it" foods, and trying to sleep better (more).

i do feel lighter, and my clothes are fitting better.

Same here. We did a lot of celebrating over the holidays, both with eating and drinking, and it really made me feel very blah and drained. I am trying to focus on how great I feel when I eat healthy and exercise.

I did lose 2 lbs this week. I've been been back to the gym but I think the loss is mostly stress related. Maybe not, I have been cutting back on portions and trying to make better choices.

I have no specific goal(s) right now. I am trying to find the spiritual side of myself that I lost somewhere along the way.

So far, today is a mixed bag. I'm avoiding sweets and cooking at home, but I've had no exercise today and I've been hungrier than usual. Ouch.

I've been back on track all week. Like Puck, I'm trying to stay away from alcohol and sweets and then sticking to my food and exericse plan.

I've made a small dent in the weight I gained over x-mas vacation. Key word in that sentence being "small".
