Dan called last night, and invited me to the theater tonight (not a date, a "dutch" thing, he's paying for the theater, I'm paying for dinner) Apparently the restaurant is a little swanky, according to him.

I'm trying to figure out what to wear, I've got to drive for 45 minutes to get there...and its New England winter.

I have a black dress that is ok looking (getting a teensy bit big), black pants with a nice shirt, maybe? Or a dresser little black dress (I wore to sing in, with a red top over it, its actually got its own "shawl"-type top)

heeeeeelllllppppp!

I totally agree, comfort is key, wearing what makes you feel best about you is what will be most comfortable.

PS: HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!!!

I have no specific goal(s) right now. I am trying to find the spiritual side of myself that I lost somewhere along the way.

It's a romantic comedy, right? So you can get away with being slightly less formal, so pants are really okay. But fun & feminine would also be appropriate.

I was told that the weather is supposed to be rainy/icy tonight.

We are having dinner around five:thirty, the play is about 7 pm.

What to wear to the theater depends opn a lot of factors...

What time is the show?
Where is the show?
What show is it?

But I'm with Bee...if its cold, go with pants and sensible footwear. There's nothing graceful about heels in an icy parking lot.

I have an aversion to wearing dresses in the freezing cold. I say go for the black pants with a great top and accessories.

Have fun!
