Well, I'm finally going to Nashville. The house hasn't closed yet (it's been delayed again until "on or before Dec. 29th"). However, since I was going to be out of town the week after Christmas, I decided to go ahead and make the leap. I finished packing everything yesterday and some friends came to help me load the "pod" and it's going today. I'm going to do the "pre-sign" for the house tomorrow morning and then I'm outta here! Today is my last day a work (but I will be consulting for them until they find my replacement). It's a little scary since the house could still fall through, but I haven't seen my husband since Nov. 5 and I'm ready to move on with my life. If it falls through, we'll just deal with it. I just can't live in limbo anymore. I'm posting here for some accountiblity for the next two weeks:
I will make the best choice I can for lunch tomorrow - stopping at Publix for a sub to take on the road so I won't get fast food. I am spending the night in Tampa at my mom's and have requested healthy items for dinner. She has food for me to take on the road on Wednesday for the rest of my trip. Since dh already has the apartment set up, I can do some quick grocery shopping for the heathly items I know he doesn't have in the house. For Christmas week, we will be in the cabin with our family and will be cooking. I've got some great recipes I am taking to offer some alternative. I will take at least one walk per day with dh - to spends some much needed alone time with him and to get some exercise. SO, that's the plan.

Mel, what area are you moving to. We live in Nashville for a long time. We moved back to Florida 3 years ago. I do miss Nashville though. We may be going up in January. I know you will be happy there. It is a wonderful place to live. Unfortunately you are going during winter so it may seem gloomy for a while, but when spring rolls around, the rains will stop and the flowers will bloom.

Merry Christmas! I know it hasn't been an easy ordeal for you. Buy yourselves one of those small trees, decorate it, buy candles and light them all over your new "home" wherever it is for now. Enjoy being a couple again, and have a great Christmas....you've gotten your present and just in time!
It's never too late to get it right.

Wave toward St Pete while you're in town, Mel, and enjoy the time on the road. Once you're north of Atlanta, the scenery is amazing! The swoopy roads through the mountains should be plenty clear, and once you're in the flatter lands headed toward Nashville...well, I'm so excited for you, and hope you & your husband have a wonderful reunion!
