For anyone who has heard me talk about the daytime reality TV show Starting Over and hasn't checked it out yet, I suggest checking out tomorrow's episode if you are at home during the day. If it's the episode I think it is (the last one of last season), it is one of my favorite episodes of the year.
Just a little background for those who aren't familiar with it. Six women move into a house together to work on their life issues with two life coaches and a psychologist. As each woman conquers her issues and reaches her goals, she "graduates" and leaves the house. A new woman moves into the house in her place.
Tomorrow's episode, if it's the one I think it is, will be the graduation of at least two women. One of them, Allison, has just recovered from breast cancer and has found out she has the cancer gene and her chances of getting cancer again are astronomical. In her 30s, she is facing the removal of her "good" breast, her ovaries and her uterus to reduce the chances of developing cancer again. Her story touched me so deeply last season, so her graduation was most definitely memorable.
Starting Over is a syndicated show, so I can't tell you exactly where and when you can find it. In the DC area, it's on at noon on the local NBC affiliate. In Rehoboth, when I visit my friends, it's on at 9 a.m. So if you're interested in checking it out, check your local listings.
