Hi, Im new to the group just seconds ago. LOL and well I would like to know where to begin? I see most have so many day Challenge Goals, Could you tell me what this is? And Please forgive me if this sounds stupid or that I should have looked for the answers some where else but didn't know where.

I've posted on the eDiets boards in the past. And I go to WW meetings and post on the WW board... and this group and board is the best!
Hello and welcome Selena!! Where do you begin?? You have begun by coming here and making a decision to change your life and improve yourself!!! Baby Steps is the name of the game. Set small goals each day, each month and of course your long term ones. Set acheivable ones. Try to start with a daily goal of drinking more water, eating smaller portions and making good healthy food choices. Try to eliminate speed bumps, like soda, cakes, sweet snacks. Allow yourself to make mistakes and learn to dust yourself off and start over each new day. Don't set yourself up for failure by thinking "diet" and remind yourself each day that you are now simply being healthy and wise. Try to incorporate some activity into each day like walking or riding a bike. You can do it and here you have plenty of support!!!!

Here's how I started. This is the 5 point system that KD recommends in one of her shows. I used it to add up so many points in a week and then rewarded myself. It was really a great way to get on the baby-step road:
Accountability: Record food in a food journal, our What's For Dinner thread or whatever. Or post here daily. Get one point.
Me Time Take 15 mins. for yourself and earn a point
Water Drink 8 glasses (64 oz.) of water and give yourself a point. If you don't drink anywhere near that much now, you might set a lower goal of 3 glasses a day (each meal) or swapping out one soda for water. Customize any of these as you see fit.
Food Make one or more "Good, Better Best" choice. One point.
Exercise Chalk up some exercise and chalk up a point. Again, this might depend on where you are at. If you are already exercising then maintaining your current activity might be a point. Or if you aren't exercising at all, doing anything would count (that's how I started).
Thank You Bee, SheriaVa, and susanrows. I went right over and found mrswanttobethin's posts. Helped a little.
I Do have KD's first cookbook maybe I should go dig it out and read it again its been some time.
I had forgotten all about her until I saw cooking thin on TV. Then I shuffled my way to the computer and joined. You see I can use all the help I can get.
A very long time ago when I was 36 I belonged to a group named Diet-Talk. I recieved a lot of help there and met some fanominal women.
I hope this group is just as helpful and I am sure I will meet some wonderful people.
Welcome, Selena! I got a little confused there for a moment because we have another member named Selene and I misread it at first!
I just wrote a response to Mrswanttobethin as well so you might want to check her thread.
Every day you will see a Halloween Challenge Day (so and so) thread and that is people reporting in on how they're doing in meeting the goals they set for the end of October.
Rest of Summer Goals: 1. Exercise-Cardio: Min. 2-3 walking or DVD cardio workouts per week. 2. Exercise-Weights/Toning: Min. 1 weight plus 1 toning workout per week. 3. Food: Get those veggie servings back up to where they were! 4. Behavior: Start reducing sweets now that the automatic after-meal response is better.

Wow, lots of newbies this week! Hello and welcome to you, too. I just posted a response to Mrs.wanttobethin -- you can read that one for my getting started advice.
We started a 90-day Halloween Challenge on August 1. We all chose a goal we wanted to accomplish by the end of October or we chose baby steps to take or just something to focus on for three months. You can jump in any time!
