Well, I have returned from the Great Beyond known as MD. I'm dusty and grungy and sore and sleepy. But it opened my eyes. My neighbors did not recognise me when I got out of the car! All the clothes I used to wear were too big! I gave at *least* seven bags of clothes to the local church. (Sorry this seems scatty, my brain lost train-of-thought long ago). I am just so amazed, I'm fitting into size 14's now!!!! By this time next year I'll be the ideal size, whatever my body decides that is.
My ex showed off his new gf to me, she's an RN, heavier than I used to be, but can carry him. They are living together, and she's 14 years younger than he is!!! It was exhausting doing this, and I have to go back for another trip, but I have accomplished it. The first time is always the hardest. Now to go soak in a nice hot bath.
And my new motto is "civilisation is nice to visit but I wouldn't want to live there!"

Yeah this must mean you'll be staying up here in the Berkshires for a while. we should get together sometime.
I'm glad you were able to get down there and start getting things in order. The first trip was probably the hardest. Hopefully any other trips you have to make will be easier.

Welcome back, Cate! I know it had to have been an awkward (not to mention tiring) situation to go back to MD and have to interact with your ex, but I'm glad you have it behind you now.
