I'm going to present at a convention in Nashville next week. I booked early so I get to stay in the convention hotel (Gaylord Opryland) and I'm going all alone so I can spend the time focusing on me (while I'm not in sessions). I am planning to eat very healthy for most of my meals and there is a gym and a pool, so exercise should not be a problem.
I spent today writing all day -- got another chapter drafted. Now I'm just waiting for feedback from my advisor.
I'm thinking of looking for that Eat, Love, Pray book that Lynne posted about for on the plane as a reward for getting so much done. Not sure if I can find it before tomorrow, though, so if not, I might see if I can find a copy for the trip home.
I have wireless internet in my room and have to take my laptop for the presentation, so don't be surprised to see me checking in.

Glad to hear you're having a nice time. I LOVE that hotel. I stayed there at a conference in college. Yes, you walk a LOT going from one conference room to another, and just meandering around the indoor botanical gardens.
You aren't the only crazy one. I also love public speaking.

Still keeping busy with the conference. I have my presentation today. I really liked downtown last night -- there seems to be a lot to do.
Just thought I'd check in and say hello. I do think if I stayed at this hotel for a month, I could easily lose the rest of the weight I want to lose, as I'm walking and walking all the time and don't have a lot of time for snacking. It would get pretty pricey, though.

I am getting tons of walking in just inside this hotel! It's so huge. I got up early today (still haven't quite gotten on local time) and did some swimming in the beautiful pool. I had a brunch today but hope that I've walked it off just getting lost inside the hotel.
I don't have a car, so I can't look up sautequeen, but I am going to take the shuttle downtown on Tuesday night and check things out. I'm sure I'll make it to the mall sometime too.

OOOOOH, Jen, I am so jealous!! I love Opreyland Hotel. We used to go and stay there for a couple of days every year. We always have loved it there!! Right across the road is the Oprey Mills Mall, Outlet mall, great shopping!!
I wish I were going too, I could show you around! I really miss Nashville. Hey, Maybe while you are there, you could look up Stephanie (sautequeen). She lives up in Hendersonville.
Enjoy your stay. Have a very safe trip!! MJ

I am a software trainer right now and before that, I worked as a college instructor. Teaching required classes will cure you of a thin skin fast! I actually like public speaking -- I know most people hate it but it is fun for me. I'm actually doing 2 presentations -- for one I'm doing with others, I was told to wear business casual, so I am (reluctantly) going to. I like the power suit myself, so when I'm doing my solo presentation, I'm going to wear a jacket and a blouse and skirt. Not quite a suit but nice.
I will definitely look for the book in Nashville if I don't find it here -- there's a big mall next to my hotel so I should be able to get some shopping in. Tomorrow might be rushed with having to drive to Detroit.
I have never noticed the posting anniversary before!

I also hope you have a chance to find this book - it is so great. I find myself reading it slower than I would generally because I want to make it last. She has a great writing voice, so I hope she has some fiction out as well.
Hey, tomorrow is your posting anniversary! Happy two years here!
