I just found this on the Celtic Woman website. Brian Boitano is having a special on Jan 1st and they are going to be on it.
News December 06 Just a quick note to wish you all a very peaceful Christmas and a happy New Year. Look out for Celtic Woman on TV over the holiday season. Not only will you see our new show on PBS but we will also be performing on The Megan Mullaly Show on Dec 22nd and at The Brian Boitano Skating Spectacular which airs on Jan 1st. For those of you living in Germany we will be appearing on DasErste on Christmas day at 8:15pm.
I always loved the way Bonaly would pull her leg up behind her - almost straight up. Ouch! All I ever wanted to do was a simple jump and a spin! I got two jumps in my repertoire - never the spin.
There was also that French woman (African American) who did the most amazing flips, but the judges kept marking her down because of her gymnastics background. I hated to see her lose points due to technical issues when she was so obviously talented. Elvis is also one of my favorite "flippers"!
Her name was Surya Bonaly. I loved watching her, too. She was a hoot.
Life is like a roller coaster, with lots of ups and downs, but the curves, spirals, loops and corkscrews are what make life interesting.

I remember that routine. I loved it!

Yes, their story was very touching and tragic.

on FitTv, there is a show called Ice Diaries that showcases several young women who are competing in the figure skating world. My daughter enjoys the show a lot.

I love to watch Michelle and Elvis. And that skinny guy that does backflips...his name escapes me right now. He had cancer.
And I like to watch that young Russian girl. The one whose husband (& skating partner) had a heart attack while holding her up in the air. He sat her down on the ice and collapsed. They said he was dead before he hit the ground and that he probably died while he still had her up in the air but he didn't drop her. I used to know all their names like I do my own but now I can't think of a one.
And I also like Brian Botano(sp?). At least I can remember his name...even if I can't spell it.
