I'm venting because someone in my office came to me for help with something yesterday, then told my boss that I told her something I didn't exactly tell her, then she did the wrong thing. So, I get an email from my boss about it this morning. So when I tried to explain her response was:

"And?? Too many people involved." FINE by me, gladly uninvolve me if there are too many people involved. Good grief!

Then people wonder why you don't want to be a team player. GEEZ!

OH, and on top of that I seem to be having an allergic reaction to something and my lips are all swollen, red and burning.

Dawn,

Sorry you're having those problems. Let me join in and say that was my biggest revelation about "missing" working in school. I DO miss the students and teaching. I DON'T miss the politics.

Have a nice weekend.

I'm glad your boss isn't a jerk! Red Face)
This story sure points out the downside of email, though, doesn't it? You can't read their expression or tone of voice, and it's easy to take things the wrong way.

The rosemary and mint definitely sound like they could cause irritation! Glad that's clearing up too.

Regarding the lips, I am now pretty sure it is an allergic reaction, because the benedryl seemed to help, and now that it is wearing off, my lips are hurting again.

I haven't had problems with lip balms before, but this has peppermint in it and rosemary, it could be either of those ingredients.

Don't you just love office politics? Hang in there!

About the lips: I used to use alot of chapstick until I started to develop the same type of reaction. I also found that when I visited my brother who lives on a farm, I got the reaction (fresh milk? spelt bread? hay?). I cut out all forms of lip balm and haven't had a recurrence. In the meantime to heal it you might try cutting open vitamin E capsules; it will soothe the irritation and in my case didn't add to the problem.

Feel better! Red Face)

Office politics make me into a crazy person. I'm sorry you're having to deal with this (on top of swollen lips, yet). Feel better (in both respects).

Oh No! Wind instrument students everywhere will be using it and whining to their parents, "I can't practice today!!! Look at my lips!"

So sorry about the office politics... I experienced this same kind of thing at church on volunteer jobs and it is stressful, frustrating and a drag.

Hang in there! Schedule a walk or some other exercise to help with the stress. Eat healthy to help with the stress. Wink

If those are this painful, then I don't recommend them. I think the culprit may be the peppermint.

Sorry about the office politics. What a frustrating mess since you were just trying to help.

Sounds like your day is off to a very yucky start : (

I hate that office nonesense too.

I hope the day gets better from here!

Oh, Dawn, I'm sorry you have to deal with such yucky office politics. Been there, done that. I hope this isn't someone you have to deal with on a regular basis. And I wish I had a recommendation for your swollen lip problem. Can you hold some ice on them, maybe, or take an antihistamine if it's an allergic reaction?

I think the reaction is to lip balm. I haven't eaten anything that should have caused it.

Sorry about your problems at work. That is one thing I do not miss about working in an office.

About your lips. That sounds like what happens to me if I eat too much fresh pineapple (not canned).
