{{Thanks Denise}} for the good college vibes! She is in such a funk. She is an excellent student, but admissions criteria has changed a lot and they have made it extremely difficult to get into a public college. Her friend is Captain of the Football team, student body pres, and has a 4.2gpa and his application was rejected. At least hers is still on hold. Anyway, thanks for the good thoughts!!

Very glad you are safe DRIVING in that rain!
Not only would I not want to pay to sit in that rain... you'd have to pay me (quite a lOT) to sit in that rain and watch a football game. But I did enjoy it on TV.
I skipped the game! I had to drive 3 hours from Miami to Fort Myers to get my boys at moms house and then another two hours to my house. The kids had school to get ready for as did I. Also, I was in a hurry to get home because my daughter found out that her application to UF was deferred and she was pretty down about it.
At least she was not declined, now she just has to wait until April to hear.
I am not a big football fan anyway, I was just there to enjoy the social aspect of it all!

Hello my friends and thanks for the concern!! So, the night the storms came through, it was pretty nasty out! Thunder, lightening, heavy wind and rain. It passed by us and on to Orlando and north! Orlando is really about an hour east of me. The area it hit is primarily retired folks. Last count were 20 people had been killed. Keep those folks in your prayers, many of them have no where to go!
In the rain and wind on Friday I was on my way to Miami! We had Superbowl business there! Lots of fun!

Mary Jo is one county and a bay east of me; we're south of Orlando (St Pete is on the Gulf, halfway down the state; Orlando is halfway down the state and in the center; Miami is on the Atlantic coast and at the southern tip of the state, if that helps with the geography, the tornadoes were north of Orlando), and we didn't get the tornado-spawning weather until a couple of hours after it hit the other counties; by the time it got to us, it was "normal" Florida thunderstorms (which are freakily strong compared to thunderstorms everywhere else I've lived, even Tennessee and Texas). When the "normal" ones are on us, I start eyeing the hurricane room (reinforced walls and ceiling, canned goods, water, flashlights, blankets, towels) because when they sounded like that in Texas, tornadoes weren't far behind. But we get that LOUD cracking crashing thunder and bright, really close lightning pretty frequently.
Thanks for thinking of us I think Mary Jo is down in Miami enjoying the festivities this weekend.
Challenge Goals: *10 minutes of unplanned exercise five times a week *Gym time twice a week *Socialize at least once every two weeks.
I did hear this morning that the storm killed all 18 of the endangered whooping cranes that were led south by ultralight planes back in the fall.
I cried when I saw it on the news. They started from Wisconsin and so many of us here were really excited about the success of the flight. BTW, there is a fabulous Crane Foundation about an hour from here. We visit every year. Take a look: http://www.savingcranes.org/
