Junk Proof Your Environment - go through your pantry, the fridge, the freezer, your drawers, your car, your purse, your office etc. and get rid of anything that's doing you in right now so you can make room for the holiday treats that really mean something to you.
Somehow, this time of year all sorts of cookies, cakes and candies tend to show up in all the wrong places. Stress levels are usually much higher during the holidays which for a lot of us means more stress and mindless eating.
When there's less to grab, you get in less trouble. Stack the odds in your favor by getting rid of foods that aren't serving your true needs. If for no other reason than so you can enjoy a few of your favorite holiday treats guilt free!
I did my fridge and cupboards over the weekend in anticipation of the holidays. My purse on the other hand is in desperate need of cleaning out. Think I'll do that tonight. Good to see you back on the board kd. Just take care of yourself and don't do too much too soon.
This is a great one for me (and the rest of the household) We have really been trying to keep the "evil foods" out of the house. LOL. DH and the kids have been really supportive. Today I am going to purge the fridge, pantry and cupboards.
Doing well, here. The ONLY temptation is dh's mini Mars bites - most that's left now, don't tempt me.
I'm planning on cooking extra meals this week for my mom's Christmas present. I thought that if I took her some healthy cooking, it my help her start on her path to loosing weight. (I come by my bulk through her side - have always wondered why I couldn't be more like my dad! - tall and thin, rather than tall and...)
Welcome back, KD! Good to know that you're doing well.
We have a pretty clean pantry. The only temptations are chocolate truffles from my favorite store in Chicago but I've been budgeting calories for those : )
Out of our beliefs are born deeds; out of our deeds we form habits; out of our habits grows our character; and on our character we build our destiny.
I'm having good success with jumping on and off the wagon. In my mind, jumping off the wagon is way different from falling off. Jumping is splurging on some intentional, less than healthy food. Jumped off for a couple of meals this weekend, but I'm back on for the next 5 days until dessert on Friday evening!
KD: Hope you are feeling well and recovering well.
Thankfully, we have no such items in our house that tempt me....I don't do cookies, have neices who will bring those to my parent's this weekend. Thank goodness for those girls!
It's never too late to get it right.

Wow...I did this yesterday! I cleaned out the pantry and got rid of somethings that I didn't need. I also sent the rest of the cookies that our neighbor sent over with my dh to work (they love that stuff, so I'm not sabotoging anyone else there!).

PS - KD - Glad to hear you are healing well....feel better and take care of yourself!
