Hi! I'm new to this website, but just had to share. Chef Kathleen was in St. Louis to present healthy cooking demonstrations at a health expo over the weekend. My sis and I thoroughly enjoyed Chef Kathleen's presentation and the yummy recipes - all from her new day book! Both my sis and I have her previous books and I also bought the day book there, so afterwards we had the pleasure of getting our books signed by Chef Kathleen. She is really a nice lady and was very supportive when we told her we'd each lost 40 lbs. since last February after joining Weight Watchers and increasing our exercise - we are now Jazzercise enthusiasts - ha!
Sorry for the long post -- just wanted to share. Only thing I forgot to ask Chef Kathleen was if she had an enjoyable dinner during her stay in St. Louis. Oh well! Thanks!

It is really something to meet someone from TV in person, especially when they're as nice as KD.
The peanut butter truffles are great -- I have mine in a container in the freezer and they're perfect when I need to grab a quick treat. They don't freeze too solid so you can eat them right from the freezer.

Welcome!!! I met KD in DE at a health fair and loved her right away. She was signing some pics at the fair and she wrote down this site. I have terminal kidney disease and finding hard to lose the weight I have been gaining over the last 5 years. This site has helped a great deal. I don't post often but I do try to visit the site as oftenas I can. There is a lot of information and moral support. It's a lot of fun to. People are very nice here and all understand the ups and downs of weight. Again welcome!!!
Chef Kathleen made the Peanut Butter Truffles (to DIE for!), the Roasted Sweet Potatoe and Beet Salad in Creamy Buttermilk Dressing (YUM!), and the Salmon Salad with Tarragon Dressing (which, we didn't get to taste as the oven wouldn't cooperate and get the salmon cooked).
I plan on trying these and others in her new book!

Hi & Welcome! KD is truly a wonderful lady. The very first time I met her the book line was so long they came down the line and asked us what name we wanted in the book, wrote it on a sticky note and stuck it on the cover of the book. When she came to mine she recognized my name from the FN message board and came around the table and gave me a big hug.
Feel free to be as wordy or as brief and you wish. If you haven't already done so, you can check out the Member Introductions thread to get to know some of us.
I am Jazzy Jane's twin sister. Yes, it WAS great meeting Chef Kathleen. I can't wait to try some of the dishes she demonstrated for us. I also look forward to looking through this website. Lots of useful information.
Hey Jane, Welcome!! Congrats on your 40 pound loss, certainly tough to do, but you did it!!!! We look forward to hearing from you more! Sounds like you might have lots of valuable information to share!! mj
