My jeans are loose, I can pull them off without unbuttoning or unzipping them! Not cool in public, but it makes me feel good! Red Face)

Anyone else have any funny, cute, delightful NSV's to share?

This isn't a healthy eating or exercise NSV but it is an NSV nonetheless! As most of you know, I have been struggling with recovering from a shoulder injury since last fall. Progress has been slow but steady with my own physical therapy at home.

For some time now, I have been thinking that it will be a noticeable milestone in my recovery when I am able to wash my hair and have BOTH hands able to touch all the way from the top of my head to the back of my neck. Haven't been able to do that since at least December when I started formal physical therapy (and everything got worse, including most notably the pain).

Well, yesterday morning, I was washing my hair and, okay, my fingertips just BARELY met at the furthest back part of my scalp, but I WAS able to run both hands over my head, fingertips touching, from top to back of my neck! YAY!!!Oh, and I haven't been on daily pain meds for almost a month now!

I am especially proud of these achievements because I have done them completely on my own, at home, with a therapy regimen I designed myself.

Summer Se7en Challenge Goals:
1. Add back core & toning work + weight work 1X each per week to start.
2. Tackle the Sugar Monster--Have a sugar free mint after lunch and dinner, wait 20 minutes, and reassess the need for a sweet treat.

I really didn't think I would be adding to this post but I put on my "always looks good, little black dress" this evening for my band concert (my usual concert black attire I just wore Sunday for that performance and didn't want to wear the same thing)and the 3/4 sleeves are down to my wrists. Like Nbox, I must have shrunk somewhere for the sleeves to have gotten longer : )

summer 7 challenge goals:
- Meditate every day
- Start the day with positive imagery and self talk

I've been on plan exercise and dietwise for the last 9 days.

I even stayed on plan while attending the Jimmy Buffett Concert on Saturday night and my best friend's boyfriend was a complete jerk.

The first day I went into the gym, I nearly took a tumble doing a simple step-up, step-down exercise (the step was about 8 inches high). During the whole process before/during/after my surgery, I was instructed to NOT USE my stomach muscles and not to lift anything over 10 lbs.

So, after that near-tumble (the trainer caught me, or else it would have been a full-blown crash and burn), she realized how much work I needed for my core muscles-back/stomach/upper legs.

Well, on Sunday, I did a step-up, step-down exercise on a step HIGHER than the one I nearly fell off. AND I did it sideways...one foot was on the step, with the inner thigh of my other leg facing the step, and I had to step up TO THE SIDE.

And I did it. 10 reps for each leg, twice. I really didn't think I'd be able to; I agreed only because she (the trainer) was SO certain I could.

Since that first near-fall, I've been a little terrified of steps without handrails, and we've been working (both at the gym and at home with a set of exercises) so much on my core and balance that it felt like a HUGE victory to do something like that.

Challenge Goals:
*10 minutes of unplanned exercise five times a week
*Gym time twice a week
*Socialize at least once every two weeks.

Yea!! Cathy that is great!

I do have a new NSV. I put on a pair of shorts yesterday to go out and do yardwork and they were loose! I remember them fitting not too tightly last year but definitely not loose. I am the same weight as this time last year but I think I have lost some inches at the gym.
