If you ate it. It's over. If you skipped exercise, it's history too. There's no point in entertaining another second of guilt over what you did or didn't do. Move on, move up, move out!
Reflect on what you can do to support your goals better and stay on track for the rest of the month. Hind sight is 20-20.
Next, review your eating and exercise goals for the rest of this week. Is your plan in line with your goals? Will your actions support the outcome you're seeking? If not, pivot! Change course. Tighten things up. Buckle down and earn what you deserve!
DH is going out of town for three days, so I can get away with lighter dinners,
Susan, I had to laugh when I read this because that is the case with me as well. I always eat differently when he is gone, and usually it is lighter. Are we keeping our men hefty? I think I am, but I'm waiting for him to stop me.
Fortunately or unfortunately -- I'm really not sure which -- I eat lighter when DH is gone because he usually does the cooking. I am truly spoiled; he's a fabulous cook. But I have had to learn to portion control what he makes and ban second helpings. And he has had to learn not to assume that means I don't like what he made.
When I cook, he never fills up on one helping. But he has lost about 25 lbs in the past year or so. Something is getting through!

I must confess I have been really crabby about moving my exercise regime indoors. I had a painful injury which resulted from a new gym routine two weeks ago, and I have finally recovered. I dared myself to try my first spinning class. And the very same day I signed up for my next one (at my gym you have to sign up within four days of the class, because they are so popular). It was great! I can see doing that twice a week at least. That is my first baby step back into indoor exercise!

This week I am working hard to eat on plan. I am writing everything down. I did a good cardio walk this morning and will get in at least 2 more good cardios this week. I will also do at least 2 hours of weights/yoga throughout the week.
The scale was unexpectedly kind to me this morning, after a not-exactly-on-plan weekend. So I'm taking it as a sign to get back on track before the cookie decorating party and MIL's boysenberry pie and the pumpkin bread at the church coffee hour catch up with me. (It is Monday, after all.) I started the day with an extra-long workout and my healthy lunch and snacks are chillin' in the office fridge.
The plan is to exercise every day, twice on Wednesday, and carry my lunch at least two more times this week. DH is going out of town for three days, so I can get away with lighter dinners, and maybe an evening trip to the mall (involving lots of walking).
I didn't wipe out on Thanksgiving, it was yesterday while my family (or after my son and dh got to the cities) I did curb things though rather than eating out of the refrig. I halved the portion my son brought home of fetticinie, added some brocolli to the sauce, had 1/2 a slice of bread and some fruit....but I was full, and maybe more so. I didn't get on the bike yesterday, couldn't or wouldn't it doesn't matter....
We are in a blizzard and it was on the heels or wheels of my dh all the way to Mpls. So I was a wreck as I usually am when winter travel is involved. Now he can't come home until Tuesday, hopefully, and I'll be a wreck tomorrow. It's just the way I am. So I am fixing lunch for tomorrow, something lite, and we'll have dinner when he gets home....
Say those prayers for us and those other who will be traveling through Mn and the Dakotas...this is an icey mess.
Summer Challenge Goals:
1. Get out of the house and in the pool four days a week. 2. Schedule meals a week at a time. 3. five fruits and vegetables a day, along with water.

My bad choices are behind me (or possibly actually part of my behind now). Today begins a new week and I am ready and primed to do better. My goals are self control and exercise. I was going to ride my bike this morning but was asked to read to my son's class, so that was my choice. Tomorrow is a different story. Tomorrow is tennis and I will not miss it.

Guilt....be gone!! I really didn't do too bad on Thanksgiving, except for dessert, too much! Back on track this week, going to the store to stock up on the good stuff. Threw out leftover dessert! Jill
Summer Challenge Goals: 1) Walk 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week 2) Plan weekly menus
