Starts August 14. I just saw a commercial for it.
It said it was rated PG-13 so how are they going to deal with fact that when he time travels his clothes do not go with him Wink Big Grin

I hope it does justice to the book!

Speaking of movies made from books, I saw Julie and Julia the other night. Not earth-shatteringly good, but sweet and funny.

It opens today!!

So far, The Toledo Blade gave it 3-1/2 out of 4 stars. Gene Shallit called it "beige" (not as vibrant as the book).

And, I read the reason for the long time in coming was that Eric Bana went from shooting this movie to shooting Star Trek where he shave his head. When TTW needed reshoots - they had to wait until Bana's hair grew back.

I do remember the discussion between a few of us about this. I also remember I did not post much because I just could not get into that book. For some reason I just felt it to be very weird and almost creepy, the whole he comes back as an adult and she is still a child but before this meeting they may have been intimate as she was an adult at a time when he came back. I am normally don't dislike a book because it has a different or odd or weird story but this one I just could not read. I don't know why I felt that way, but I just did.

Oh my! Have you really been gone that long? How time flies.
I guess it is easy to lose track when every day is the same ol, same ol and there is nothing special happening to mark the passage of time.

The book was originally optioned by Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt - does that tell you how long this has been going on? After they broke up, I wondered what was going to happen to this. They've been divorced for 4 years.

Will be interesting to see. I think I read the book five years ago.

It has been longer than that Judy. I read it in Atlanta with my book club there and I think several of you on here read it before I did. I've been back in Indiana for 2 years now...

I did not know it was in the works.
Only just saw the first commercial yesterday.

The movie originally had some very big names attached...but it has gone through several changes over the years since the book rights were optioned. I'm still hopeful if not optimistic about the movie.

Judy,

I'm afraid this is going to be a dog. It was supposed to be released almost two years ago, then last Christmas (I've been following this since I read the book). I guess we'll see, but getting shuffled around like that isn't a good sign.
