Well, yesterday was dh's and my 15th anniversary. We had a quiet night at home....a friend kept the kids overnight for us, and I built a big roaring fire, surrounded the living room with candles, ordered a movie on Pay per view, and then ordered chinese take out. As my friend said, it was a hubba hubba night with my husband, and it was SOOOO relaxing! We didn't have to put the kids to bed, we got to stay up as late as we wanted, and this morning I didn't have to be quiet while getting breakfast and lunch ready for Don for work. It was great! It was incredibly relaxing, and today I'm feeling refreshed and renewed. I have a mud mask on my face right now, I'm about to take a bubble bath, and then do last night's dishes and get my kiddos.

I wanted to challenge ALL of you to take an evening for yourself (and your spouses, if you have them). It is so renewing! I feel as though I can take on anything now!

Blessings,

Lori

Denise,

Last night I told Don that I am looking forward to the next 50 years with him. He said, "Oh, so I am free in 50 years?" hehehehe we laughed so hard over that one! Seriously, this 15 years has passed by so quickly, I am really looking forward to a lifetime together!

Blessings,

Lori

Happy anniversary Lori!
I'm so glad that you had such a great night with your dh : )

That sound fabulous Lori! I hope my DH and I can do something similar in the next week or so. We met on Feb. 11th, and we got engaged on Feb. 11th, so that has always been a mini-anniversary sort of celebration for us.

That sounds FANTASTIC, Lori! I'm so happy that you did that for yourself and for Don, too!

I agree that a lot of women, esp. moms, don't take enough time for themselves and I think self care is incredibly important to enable us to care for others (nice little book on this subject is Life Makeovers by Cheryl Richardson).
