She decided not to tell the parents anything. We don't see them for month's at a time anyway so there will be plenty of time for her recovery and for her hair to grow back in.
My sister went home this past Wednesday. I talked to her briefly on the phone after she got home. Her recovery was slow and she was in the hospital longer than expected. Then they realized it was the flowers in the room that was keeping her sick to her tummy. Improved rapidly after the flowers were removed. Dena and I plan to go by and see her on Sunday.
I got an e-mail saying she has been moved out of ICU, into a regular room and will probably be in the hospital another 2 days.
I really need to try and see her at the hospital instead of waiting for her to go home. The hospital is about 15 minutes away whereas she lives a little over an hour away and it would take 2 hours of just travel time to go up there.
Her son called me last night around 8:30 and said she was finally able to be moved from recovery to an ICU room. He said the surgery did not take as long as expected but that she was in recovery a lot longer than expected. She is at Emory Hospital and their ICU is set up so that one family member can spend the night so her husband was going to stay with her.
I doubt that I will be able to get away today but I may try to go by and see her when I "go to the Y" tomorrow morning . It depends on what the visiting schedule is.
Judy, Hoping all is well. I hear you on post-op complications. Try not to worry and take good care of yourself. Worrying won't help although I know all too well how hard it is not to.
