I just flew home from FL for a few days.
My mil is hanging on and defying all predictions. I had some great family time and was priviledged to be able to participate in my mil's care.
My mil's sisters were able to come down so there is help with care giving.
My dd had an extremely hard time with me being gone (VERY unusual for her) and cried every time I talked to her and according to my parents, cried herself to sleep most nights.
Since we really don't know how much longer my mil can hang on, I came home for a bit.
It was very hard to leave but I felt like I really needed to be home right now.
DD and I will fly down together when it's time for the funeral.
As far as eating/exercise - it was a total wash. We were care giving 24/7 and I maybe got out for a walk 3 out of the 8 days.
Even when I wasn't on "night duty", I didn't sleep well so I'm feeling quite run down (and I caught my niece's cold 1/2 way through the week).
Eating was poor - no schedule at all as we were so focused on care giving so I generally sat down starving and over ate and drank.
I expect that I'll be home for maybe a week (give or take) and I'm planning on focusing on eating well and taking good care of myself.
I have a long run planned in the am and I'm really looking forward to it.
