Anyone here use a pressure cooker? My mother always used one but I was always a little afraid of it. I have heard that the new ones are much less scary.

We got one at a garage sale a few years ago (it's one we saw Alton Brown use with the release in the handle rather than on top of the lid).

I have to admit dh is the one who uses it, but we are always very satisfied with our meals when we use it.

I have one - I love it. I use it to cook beans and rice mostly. It's not scary at all if your read the instructions. I have an electric version.
