As noted in my "Offline for the next week" thread, I bought my first home (which is also my retirement home) while I was on vacation in Delaware this past week. Bought a 2 BR/2 BA ground floor condo w/garage and veranda.
Here are pix of how it looks now (it was a model so the furniture and decor you see isn't mine). By the time I move in, it will have tile floor in the kitchen vs. vinyl, tile floor on the veranda vs. concrete, sliding windows on the veranda vs. just screens and upgraded lighting in the DR.
My building:
Me at my front door with sold sign:
My kitchen (twice the size of my current apartment kitchen)
My laundry room (some of you know what a big deal that is for me)
My livingroom (a little smaller than my current apt. LR)
My dining room (a little larger than my current apt. DR)
My master bedroom (smaller than my current apt. BR)
My second bedroom (which will be my office + guest room)
My veranda from inside the condo
My veranda from outside the condo (view from veranda)
My new home is walkable to the movie theatre, SuperFresh, outlet stores, restaurants, etc., easily walkable to my friends' house, and about 3-5 miles (about 5-7 minutes by car) to the beach.

I can't see the pictures here at work (thanks, over-eager security procedures!), but I wanted to throw out that we've gotten some GREAT, interesting pieces from Overstock.com. Reading the reviews is important.
Just in case you want to do more decorating, or just mental decorating (I do that for about a month before I actually move things/paint/get new stuff).
Challenge Goals: *10 minutes of unplanned exercise five times a week *Gym time twice a week *Socialize at least once every two weeks.
Uh hum. I did NOT see our forum on your computer screen SUCH a cute home!!!! Lovely. You must be SO proud. Congratulations!!!! And SO SUNNY!!!!! I'm looking at snow
I put up these 2 display shelves in the bathroom today and am displaying some cobalt blue glass. Also added those dried flowers and branches in the corner vase.
I realized that the last pic I posted of my kitchen was clear back when I had just moved in and it was full of boxes. So here's how it looks today.
Finally got some art up (my Ty Wilson prints) in the back hall outside the office and guest bath. Looking more homey now!
I have vacillated about a billion times about what kind of furniture I wanted on my veranda. I had planned to buy full-size regular livingroom furniture but was concerned about a bit of occasional dampness, so I got something smaller and less expensive. This is just the settee but matching 2 chairs are on order.
Slowly but surely, my new home is coming together!

Goals: 1. Stop thinking like a chronic dieter and start living to inspire. 2. HALT (hungry, anxious, lonely, tired) I will stop and tune in with myself should I experience these things, and respond with something healthy. 3. One word 2008: courage 4. Eat slow and mindfully.
My new comforter set, bought on massive discount at Kohl's. Hopefully, the bedroom is the next room to be painted. I picked out a color much lighter than the bathroom but in a coordinating shade.
Spruced up the dining room with 2 new table runners from Pier One:

Thanks! The funny thing is that I did not notice, until after I'd posted the pix here and came back later to look at them, that the packing straps are still on the desk door! hehe The delivery guys said to wait for the desk to come to room temperature before removing that because there was a glass shelf in there. So I started snapping pix and forgot about it! It looks much nicer without those straps and foam padding and with the glass shelf installed. hehe
I do love it--though I wish it had more drawer space (the big drawer is actually the keyboard tray, though there are a couple of tiny drawers).
Rest of Summer Goals: 1. Exercise-Cardio: Min. 2-3 walking or DVD cardio workouts per week. 2. Exercise-Weights/Toning: Min. 1 weight plus 1 toning workout per week. 3. Food: Get those veggie servings back up to where they were! 4. Behavior: Start reducing sweets now that the automatic after-meal response is better.

I just uploaded a bunch of move pictures from both ends (Alexandria and Rehoboth Beach) of the move process. If you want to see all of them, you can go here. Here are just a few highlights:

Well, I'm all moved--the move went beautifully, though it was a bone-chillingly cold day. The trouble started an hour after the movers left, when the Comcast technician arrived. After many tales of woe, and 3 hours and 2 or 3 technicians in my home during that time, I finally had cable TV but no internet.
It has taken 2 MORE days and MANY more calls to Comcast to finally get Internet service. What a pain!
Anyhow, just about the time I was finally getting my Internet situation straightened out, the installer from Lowe's was installing my veranda and bathroom blinds...exciting!
And finally, I tried taking pictures on move day or the morning after--of all the boxes sitting around and such--but my digital camera had died. Dunno if it is batteries or the cold or what. I haven't been out to get batteries but will do that this weekend and try to get a few pix up.
