Today my first born should have been celebrating his 7th birthday.
I'm very sad and missing him greatly today.
I hope you all don't mind but I wanted to share a poem I wrote for my dh on the first Father's Day after Colin died:
Once upon a time, far from the kingdom on the hill, we met a Prince. The Prince was so handsome that he radiated beauty and light to all who laid eyes upon him. Not only was this Prince beautiful, he possessed a wisdom far beyond his years. During our brief encounter with the Prince, he taught us much.
The Prince taught us Love - a love deeper, purer, more binding, than any love we had known before.
The Prince taught us Life - the preciousness and gift of all life, including the trees, flowers and the birds.
The Prince taught us Faith - faith to truly believe in those things greater than ourselves.
The Prince taught us Friendship - friendship that becomes stronger in time of hardship and remains true.
The Prince taught us Hope - hope for a brighter tomorrow.
The Prince was so wise, that all these lessons were taught without the utterance of a single sound. And when the Prince departed, we were left incredibly saddened. Yet the lessons continued, and we continued to learn. We remain forever changed and all the better for having the privilege to know and to love the Prince.
- In loving memory of Colin William Evans, 4/21/99 - 4/22/99
Out of our beliefs are born deeds; out of our deeds we form habits; out of our habits grows our character; and on our character we build our destiny.

No, I hadn't thought of it (at least not in a real-life way). I wouldn't even know how to go about doing that, but it would be something creative that I do think I'd enjoy! I'm glad you find them visually descriptive...that's always what I'm going for when I write the intro. I try to make it 3-dimensional if only in the mind.

Sheri, Have you ever thought about a career in designing real paper journals? Seriously, your descriptions are so real and I can actually picture how beautiful the journal is in my mind!
To Jane-Borders, Barnes and Noble, and other bookstores are great places to buy journals. I have even found a few cute ones for dd at the dollar store! Jill
Summer Challenge Goals: 1) Walk 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week 2) Plan weekly menus
A lot of my sister journals say they are for sale at Border's, which has quite a collection of blank journals I'm told. Sometimes the small bookstores (like the one Sheri loves in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware) have some really interesting journals as well. Hope this helps!
Of course, there IS no other journal just like me, but you may be able to find something similar!
At your sunshiney service, Sunshine

Sounds like a lovely journal. Where would I find a real journal like that...or rather, another journal like that for personal use. (Not to insinutate that you aren't real.)
