I really, really enjoyed Dr. David Kessler's "
The End of Overeating".
I thought that he does a really good job of explaining what is physically going on in our brains.

I bought Jillian Michael’s "30 Day Shred" DVD. I'm liking it a lot.
http://www.amazon.com/Jillian-...id=1243435248&sr=8-1It is REALLY easy to follow. (Maybe DVD's have changed since the disco dance videos from the 1980's?

Sad but true... I think that the only other video I owned was a Jane Fonda Step Up Video... which I could never follow...

Oh... and I own a yoga video which is medium hard to follow. ) I also don’t find Jillian to be perky-manic-happy-annoying.
There are three 20 minute exercise segments. They are supposed to be easy, med, and more difficult… but I think that they are all pretty hard… just in different ways.
I usually run in place for the 4 minutes while the ads at the beginning of the DVD are playing… and then 20 minute exercise thing… and then every other day… I’ll get on the elliptical for 15 more minutes. But it is a good DVD if you don’t have a lot of time. OR you use the excuse that you don’t have a lot of time. Or you just don’t like exercise all that much. Since you can do your 20-24 minutes get in strength and cardio and be done with it.
I’ve been doing the Core Strength Exercises at:
http://www.mayoclinic.com/heal...ore-strength/SM00047I’ve been doing these fairly consistently for 3? years now. Jillian has about 9 different crunches in her DVD… but I just do the Mayo Clinic exercises, since I think that they are harder than her crunches and I also find crunches (even with many variations) really boring.
One warning… I stopped going to the Y and just stared doing free weights at home in November. And I gained 3 lbs during this past ski season which wouldn’t come off… and since my body fat percentage stayed the same and my clothes all fit the same and my measurements were either the same or “better”… I went with it. Then I bought this 30 day Shred thing… and gained another 2 lbs in 15 days… but I think that it is muscle… as my body fat percentage is STILL the same.
MOST people on the WW’ers board also report gaining with this Shred DVD, so it isn’t for the scale faint of heart.
