I went clothes shopping today. I hate this. I know I'm slimmer, I know I'm more or less "normal" (yes I still have a big butt, but I'm not "morbidly obese", although I still qualify as obese)

I'm sick of it. I want to be able to buy clothes and look cute. I want to look my age, to look pretty. I'm tired of being fat!!! Tired of feeling fat!

AUGH!

I love to shop. But I have learned since starting to loose the weight, that not all clothes are created equal. A size 14 in one store or even in the same store is not going to be the same as another size 14. So what I do, is use the numbers as a starting point, and go from there. At one store, I can fit into a 12, at another store it's a 16, at another it's a 14...the numbers are only reference points anymore. I go for what I like, what fits and if I am willing to pay the price. It's just a thought for you to try. I look on TV and see that some bigger women than I are wearing smaller sizes, and some smaller women are wearing bigger sizes. Does it make sense, no, but I am not going to let a number ruin my celebration of getting into clothes that I love.

It's never too late to get it right.

Smiler Cate, it is really where you shop!! Lane Bryant is very fashionable. The outfits are designed for younger women sizes 14 and up I believe. If you look in many petite depts, you wind up with old ladyish stuff. You can be cute at any size. Plus, remember to give yourself reasonable time before you shop for clothes. Don't rush your weight loss. If you start shopping before you have gotten close to your goal, you will wind up discouraged!! You have been doing so well!!!!!

I hear you. I treid on a pair of hipsters at Old Navy---- talk about total humiliation.

Aren't you the one posting about loads of NSV's? Yes, you are!

Hang in. You're doing great and coming along beautifully. Don't believe the lie that fashion rags preach. Take care of yourself-- some tea, a walk or a talk with a loving friend.

For whatever it is worth... I've hated clothes shopping... no matter WHAT size I am.

The cute clothes never fit right. It always seems like a body type is in style - rather than a clothes style.

Like sometimes is is stylish to have a bust and sometimes is is stylish to be flat chested... and what ever body I have never seems to go with the clothes of the year. Pants that fit in the hips can't button. Blouses that fit in the shoulders can't be buttoned.

Soooo - cheer up Catherine Smiler Do your best to focus on the positives... because the negatives will continue to haunt you regardless of size or weight. Is that happy news, or what!?!?! Smiler
