Post your goals for the week and keep us informed on your progress. Sure hope you all have a fabulous week and a great Saint Patrick's Day!!!
My week will be busy, so my goals are...
1. Eat fruits and veggies with every meal 2. Drink my 6-8 cups of water every day. 3. Exercise at least 5 minutes every day even when I do "my regular things".

March (post-Hawaii) goals: 1. Get back on plan and back in my routines. 2. Get to the gym at least twice while off work. 3. Get some exercise every day I'm off work, even if it's 15 mins.
My first week post-Hawaii in review:
I got back from Kauai on Monday and have been off work the rest of this week.
1. I didn't do a great job, but I also didn't do the worst I could have. The first few days I was back, I ate off plan way too much. Later in the week, I have done better about getting back on plan and back into my routines, though I'm still not 100% there. My sleep schedule isn't 100% back on track yet and that has a good bit to do with it as I don't wake up feeling very good.
2. Zippy. I haven't been to the gym once since I returned from Kauai. I intended to go to my usual aerobics class yesterday morning but I didn't sleep well and definitely wasn't ready to get up as early as would be necessary to prepare for and get to the gym by 9 a.m.
3. Not good. The only exercise I've had is two walks...one Tuesday to the grocery store and back (not a long distance but carrying almost 20 pounds of groceries back in my backpack uphill and against the wind was definitely good exercise) and one Saturday (almost an hour and at a good walking clip but wasn't up to jogging). I'm still hoping to get a little something in today (besides the laundry, which includes a good bit of walking back and forth down the block).
My knees (esp. the right) started bothering me in Kauai (we had to do some climbing over rocks and tree limbs to get to some beaches/areas) and, while they don't bother me much just walking around the house, I have had discomfort on both my walks this week. This really concerns me since all my usual cardio really involves the knees. Hoping it's temporary and, if it's not, I guess I'll need to go visit the orthopedist and see what's up.

I did exercise 3 times and I will once more today. I did NOT do the extra 5 minutes a day..not even once!
I did eat F&V 90% of the time.
My water consumption was way down.
Friday was dessert day in the staffroom....I had a little bit of a few things. I also had two mochas that day. When I got home I put my version of corned beef and cabbage on the burner to warm up aned cook the spuds a little longer. In the meantime my dh ordered pizza for himself. I decided to have ONE piece...I haven't had ooey, gooey, cheesy pizza in a LONG time. I ended up eating THREE slices. I put the CB & C back in the fridge! Last night I made dh a hamburger gravy that he loves with mashed potatoes which I ended up having too. My tummy hurts today and I must get back on track....errrr. Report cards are due on Tuesday and the dreaded conferences are Wednesday. Stress=CHOCOLATE!!!!
Thanks for listening
My plan for today...
Oatmeal for breakfast Soup and salad for lunch Chicken with Leeks and brown rice for dinner Apple, pears, cherries ready for snacks!
Walk at 5ish with friend
Work on Report cards, go to church, go to the mall sometime today!
It's 10:00 now and I had the breakfast and church is in 1 hour. I am procrastinating the RC's by venting here
It is a sunny day which we haven't had much of and I'd rather be outside!
I'd better get off here and do something.
Have a great day everyone!

I ended up with a three day migraine and then spent the rest of the time catching up. I stayed pretty much on track with my fruits and veggies. My sleep was messed up so I didn't achieve my 6am wake up time. I exercised three instead of five days.
This week my goals are to: 5 servings fruits and veggies Get to 6 am by the end of the week Exercise 5 days

First, I was on vacation with a group of 4 people, most of whom do not care about eating healthy at home (much less on vacation), so I knew going in that I was going to have challenges.
I packed Grape Nuts cereal in my luggage so that I would at least have a healthy breakfast option. I was shocked when, on our first grocery shopping foray, the group agreed to buy skim milk (I was asked what I drank at home and I said skim or 1% but I did not at all try to force that decision on the group). We only ate out for breakfast once--our first full day there. The other days I ate Grape Nuts and skim milk with a banana or an egg or two with wholegrain toast (also had a slice of bacon a day or two), so breakfasts were, on the whole, pretty healthy.
Lunches were a mixed bag--some days at home and some days out. At home, we had ham & turkey on wholegrain bread for sandwiches and I got carrot sticks to eat with my sandwiches. Lunches out were usually a sandwich and a salad or a sandwich and fries.
Dinners were about half and half, home and out. At home, we had spaghetti & salad one night, burgers & dogs with potato salad and chips one night, and leftovers (eat whatever you could find in the fridge) one night. Dinners out were either grilled chicken, pork or beef, usually with salad.
Snacks were probably less than at home, since I tend to be snacky in the evenings at home. We had ice cream at home a few nights and ice cream out one day.
Alcohol-wise, I had a glass of wine with dinner out twice and 1 cocktail at home after dinner 3 nights.
I was actually really proud of myself on my travel day to Hawaii. I packed healthy snacks in my backpack plus, on the plane, I chose the healthy fresh meal both flights (fruit, yogurt and cheese for breakfast and a grilled chicken salad for lunch) instead of choosing the snack packs that are full of processed salty/sweet snacks. On the flights home, we ate out before the first and second flights so I didn't eat on the plane at all.
On the whole, I made quite a few good & better choices but there were quite a few times I didn't. I am not guilting myself over ANYTHING I ate while on vacation. I had a marvelous time and that was the plan.
I bought groceries the day after I got home from Hawaii (though it may not have been within 36 hours of returning, which was one of my vacation goals, due to my long night of sleep) so I'm set to get back on plan. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Sheri in Reho,
